Getaway Fitness, a luxury fitness vacation provider, will feature a new womens magazine at their upcoming event The ULTIMATE Womens Fitness and Wellness Event 2012. The event, to be held on February 25 at the TradeWinds Resort in St. Pete Beach, Florida, is a womens fitness and health extravaganza and is also the inspiration for HER Health Magazine. Getaway Fitness founder Maria Walker shares Our goal for this event is to provide the knowledge to empower women to be in charge of their health, to quit putting themselves last, and to give them the tools to get healthy and fit. There was so much information we hoped to impart at our event yet we had a limited timeframe for doing so. We initially decided to create a womans health guide so that participants would have a meaningful takeaway from the event. The more we discussed what needed to go into the guide, it quickly expanded into what is now HER Health Magazine.
Getaway Fitness also features womens only fitness retreats called Girlfriend Fitness Getaways. Walker explains that she plans to expand HER Health to be a seasonal publication for their womens retreats. We have so many guests that meet while attending our fitness vacations and become friends. We view this publication as a means for keeping our guests connected with each other and allowing them to share their experiences and successes achieved from attending our retreats. It is also a great platform for continuing to deliver the latest health and fitness information to our program participants.
Girlfriend Fitness Getaways and The ULTIMATE Womens Fitness and Wellness Event 2012 support the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure. 4% of the registration fee for The ULTIMATE Womens Fitness and Wellness Event 2012 will be donated to the Suncoast Affillate of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Along those lines, HER Health Magazine will contain a feature called Inspired by HER which will celebrate courageous women who fought the battle against cancer and inspired others.
